The Wasatch County Council recently approved a policy establishing a Memorial Hill Committee along with criteria and timelines for adding names to the memorial. Each year, the memorial will be update
Since 1927, Memorial Hill in Wasatch County has commemorated more than 2,400 names of local residents who served in United States military conflicts. Located just off River Road and Memorial Hill Drive in Midway, a winding dirt road spirals to the top of the hill, offering majestic views of the Heber Valley.
Flags representing each branch of the armed forces, along with the American and State of Utah flags, fly high above the memorial. The names of Wasatch County residents who have served in US conflicts from the War of 1812 to the present are etched into plaques. Visitors can also enjoy the views from a bench overlooking a Fallen Soldier Battle Cross sculpture.
The road to the top of the memorial is open to motor vehicles seasonally from about May to November, depending on weather conditions, and accessible by foot year-round. Please note that ATVs, horses, or snowmobiles are not permitted.
